Celebrating the life of
Elizabeth Cain Baker
June 29, 1923 - July 06, 2013
SAVANNAH - Elizabeth Cain Baker died on Saturday, July 6, 2013, shortly after celebrating her 90th birthday surrounded by all of her family.
She was a native Savannahian who took pride in being an "Old Fashioned" lady. In her career as owner of the Cottage Shop as well as in her life she taught us all the true meaning of Southern Hospitality. She volunteered her time to the Junior League of Savannah, the Colonial Dames and to St. John's Church. As a member of the Froebel Circle she always enjoyed her summers at Tybee with her family. She was a wife, mother, sister and the best grandmother who brought so much joy into our lives. She was a wonderful lady and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, William A. Baker; her son William A. Baker, Jr. Sherrie; her sister Edith Inglesby Walker; her grandchildren Emily B. Mello Ryan and Elizabeth B. Brennan Tim and four great grandchildren.
Her family thanks Flo Sanders, Carolyn Davis and Arlene McIver for their special care.
The funeral service will be graveside at 3:00pm on Monday July 8, 2013 at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
The family suggests any remembrances be made in her memory to St. John's Church, 1 W. Macon Street, Savannah, Ga. 31401.
